Game of Shrooms (started in 2019 by Attaboy) is like an Easter Egg Hunt for art and celebrates the spirit of unexpected surprises. Envision a collaborative art movement spanning the globe, where people actively create, share, and encounter moments of absolute wonder.
When is it?
The next Game of Shrooms happens on June 13th, 2026.
How do I participate?
On that day, artists from all over the world hide their original mushroom-themed art works in public places then they give hints (often on social media) for others to find AND KEEP! Want to go all in? List yourself as a participating artist on the Attaboy’s website and pin the general location of where to find your hidden art.
Please note, this is a Leave No Trace event. This means artists will not hide art in protected areas or damage property. Also, if you hide it, and no one finds it, you need to retrieve it.
What if I don’t want to create a mushroom, I just want to collect one?
Awesome! We love patrons of the arts. We only ask that you limit yourself to one creation per an artist and to let the artist know you’ve found their work by messaging or tagging them. And if you don’t already, support the artists by following their social media pages.
But I’m not sure what kind of art to do?
Carden Custom Framing is here to make it easy! Starting March 24th, we will have mushroom-shaped wood panels in stock from Trekell, which will be available for sale. Paint your creation on the front and sign your name on the back, along with your social media information and hashtags #gameofshrooms #gameofshrooms2025. The way, the lucky collector can follow you and discover this worldwide art event.
Want to do something different? No problem! This event is open for any art medium. From stained glass, crotchet, paintings, stickers, sculptures–this event is open for artists of all types and all skill levels. Make one or fifty-one–the sky is the limit!
