A few years ago, we took a look at the National Day Calendar and saw this on January 31st: “Inspire Your Heart with Art.” Here at Carden, we love to do everything we can to uplift and support our local, living artists. The galleries in Bismarck and Mandan do such wonderful work, but we wanted to expand the artists’ network to include an audience who might not enter these spaces. So, we had this thought: why not host an art show celebrating “Inspire Your Heart with Art” and help artists get their work in front of people who might not see it otherwise?
We emailed our customers who were also artists and invited them to display their work. We filled our walls, showcasing creations from some of the most well-known artists in our community to those who were just beginning to take their art seriously. Then we sent out invites, set a date for a reception, and crossed our fingers hoping it turned out as good as we hoped.
It didn’t.
It turned out even better.
It was a hit! We had so many artists and patrons visit during the opening reception. Our walls were filled with beautiful art, and the air was filled with conversation and laughter. It was an easy decision to make it an annual event. Now, we’re on our third year and looking to make it even bigger than ever!
This year, we are expecting to have over thirty artists participate. It’s going to be amazing seeing these walls filled with so many different art styles and mediums. From photography to paint, from paper to sculpture, we will have a wide variety of fantastic local art. Here’s just a sampling of the artists who are participating:
What’s another special thing about our opening reception? Beyond being inspired by local artists, beyond snacks and drinks, beyond a chance to bond with our wonderful art community? We are also having a very, very special sale.
