It all started in 1930s when the 602 Model pencil was created–a high-end pencil noted for its unique rectangular eraser. This “Cadillac of Pencils” soon became a market standard for quality. Even after the pencil was discontinued in 1998, it was still highly sought after, going for as much as $40 for a single pencil on eBay.
In 2010, these pencils were revived by the Blackwing brand upon customer request, tapping into over 100 years of family-run pencil industry experience. Since then, they’ve expanded the product line from the beloved 602 Model, using the same standard of quality with iconic rectangular eraser.
Carden Custom Framing is the only place in the Midwest that carries the Blackwing brand. Due to the popularity of these pencils, we have expanded our store’s product line to carry all the major pencil models. These can be purchased individually or in box sets of 12. These include:
